House Of Low Culture

As the news comes out regarding the upcoming House Of Low Culture album, Poisoned Soil, I get more and more excited. Taiga recently dropped some hints regarding the upcoming release:

TAIGA 17 - House of Low Culture Poisoned Soil LP+12" is now being cut by John Golden & will be released this summer! HOLC is the long running solo project of Aaron Turner (Lotus Eaters, Isis, Mamiffer, Hydra Head, etc) & Poisoned Soil is the first full length to be released in 8 years since the 2003 CD Edward's Lament! Sige have recently released a Mamiffer / HOLC split cassette featuring a demo from Poisoned Soil, Spoiled Fruits of the Kingdom, available during their current tour.

New Helms Alee!

...a new record from Helms Alee apparently is hitting shops June 21st. I am excited. Their last record was great. Entitled Weatherhead, this will have 2xLP or CD or digital options for your listening pleasure.

A New Swans Album?

Apparently, in the first two weeks of this July, Swans will be recording their next album. They have been playing new material on tour. The above is from their performance at Roadburn this past weekend.

Busy Busy Busy

Gholas has been playing shows out the ying yang. Besides the short tour we did in August, our schedule has continued to be full with shows for something like the next 4 or 5 weeks. The record is complete and barring some last minute revisions to the layout, it should be in our hands in roughly 3 weeks. Go Here for more info

Has It Really Been So Long?

Thirteen years since the last album from Three Mile Pilot seems like a long time, and well, it is. The Planets / Grey Clouds 7" single from last year was quite the teaser. Hopefully, this was just a taste of how good the new album will be.

RIP Isis

Isis has announced that the band is calling it a day after this upcoming tour with the Melvins. I am still in a bit of shock even though the comments from band members following the release ofWavering Radiant hinted at this outcome.

This band has meant a great deal to me over the last 13 years; they will be missed.

In the last thirteen years, Isis has released 5 studio albums, 4 EPs, 4 remix LPs, 5 Live albums, and a split with Agoraphobic Nosebleed. Apparently, the bad has another EP and more Live material upcoming to go along with their split with the Melvins. So, on the studio and music front, we will still be hearing from the band.

So, friends are asking me how Godspeed was live, and although these videos will do the live experience little justice, it will convey some sense of the scale of one of their shows. Interestingly enough "Moya" is one of my favorite songs from the band.
