Seven Sisters Of Sleep / Children Of God split...

I still feel as though Seven Sisters Of Sleep is one of the best hardcore bands going today, and it is awesome that they are part of this split with up and comers Children Of God.

SEVEN SISTERS OF SLEEP deliver three new tracks that pick up where their amazing self titled LP... CHILDREN OF GOD deliver an impressive followup to their 'Coup De Grace' 7" with three new tracks of harsh metallic hardcore that blurs the lines between musical violence and chaos...

Here are some videos for this release... yes videos.

Both of those songs come off this split... so grab it for some viciousness here.

A389's Latest Batch of Releases: Ringworm & Mindsnare Split

Ringworm follows up their latest LP (Scars, on Victory Records) with this split 7" with Australian powerhouse Mindsnare.

Cleveland hardcore legends RINGWORM return with two new/unreleased crushers from the vaults. Never before heard until now! The flipside of this split 7" is sure to make your blood pressure rise...with two new tracks by MINDSNARE!!!

First pressing comes packaged as a mini 8-panel EC comics style insert illustrated by the Human Furnace.

Human Furnace has an incredibly crazy visual style, so the comic book is probably a trip and the 7" cover is a nice throwback to old EC Comics horror titles, classic.

The 7" also comes with a download code for digital listening purposes.

Again, if you order this in the A389 Package this time around, this comes on Purple vinyl.

Pyramids & Horseback...

Are finally up for pre-order.

From the label:

In our current climate of exponentially expanding micro-genres and sub-sub-niches, we're usually only a few mouse clicks away from finding or assigning a particular tag to any given musical artist. In instances when a group or solo musician seems to have hit upon a sound that hasn't already been neatly classified, it seems there's a whole host of anxious internetters just waiting to cobble together a set of hyphenated words to quickly solidify the identity of the unruly artist. Though both Pyramids and Horseback have existed now for what seems like eons by modern standards (you know, at least three or more years), astonishingly neither has been saddled with a lasting classification for the sounds they make. Whether this is due to their constantly shifting approach to compositional technique with each successive release, their fluctuating membership, or simply the fact that their not borrowing exclusively from any one source, it seems one thing is certain: both have succeeded in making music that is singularly their own, while also possessing a deeply affective humanity, initially alienating though it might appear.

Now that these two entities have combined forces for "A Throne Without a King", a new set of questions is raised in through its realization. Firstly, is it a split or a collaboration? Well, it's both - the album includes one new song from each individual group, as well as a long-form collaborative piece involving all personnel from Horseback and Pyramids playing together. Over the course of the three tracks that comprise the set the music ranges through territories of frenzied blasting, sonorous melody, arrhythmic clattering, frenetic riffing, frozen howls, and uneasy quiet. Horseback offers up the most recognizably structured piece of the three, a scabrous black metal weave, threaded through with a distinctly American twang. On their solo adventure Pyramids force together incongruent bits of hammering drum machine, screeching metallic textures and harmonious snippets of spacious piano into one implausibly seamless whole.

Strong as the preceding pieces are, it is the massive forty five minute collaborative piece that is really the centerpiece of the entire project - a sprawling mass of sonic moss, mud, concrete and galvanic crackle. Incorporating harsh electronics, buzzing swaths of guitar, low pulsing drones, improvised percussion and spectral voices issued from a distant universe, the "song" is a perfect synthesis of the diverse musical personalities involved in its creation. Though it could be inaptly described as any number wildly different types of music, like the parent groups that have channeled its chaotic essence into a tangible living form, it is a beast of unique nature - at once beguiling, terrifying and completely immersive. A more successful pairing of experimental-metal-drone-ambient-krautish-noise-rock collaborators you are unlikely to find, in our reality or any of its parallel relatives.

Track Listing (7")
Side A: Pyramids 'Phaedra's Love' (6:45)
Side B: Horseback 'Thee Cult Of Henry Flynt' (7:00)

Track Listing (LP)
Side C: Pyramids + Horseback 'A Throne Without A King pt. 1' (8:54)

Side D: Pyramids + Horseback 'A Throne Without A King pt. 3' (9:47)

Has It Really Been 10 Years?

Has it truly been ten years? This is blowing my mind right now. This record devoured me for the three to five years following its release as I pseudo religiously traveled all over to see Bane play these songs. Give Blood means a great deal to me personally.

I know I know, I do not normally hype hardcore records here, but I could probably fill a book with my experiences related to this album (no joke).

This is just one of the many times that I have seen these guys while they toured the hell out of the record.

Well, Triple B Records is re-issing Give Blood on vinyl.

Here are some details:

it's FINALLY here! pre-orders for the 10 year anniversary pressing of Bane's infamous GIVE BLOOD are now up! there are 3 colors available for purchase on our site. 1 color will be exclusively available through Equal Vision.
This LP comes complete with a high quality gatefold embossed sleeve and a 16 page 11x11inch full color insert booklet.

Three New Release from Magic Bullet...

SSORC is an underrated and virtually unknown Japanese band that is highly revered in certain circles. Magic Bullet has made this album, Infidel Eternal, available for the first time domestically now on three LP color variations (the accompanying 7" has a multitude of variations as well) Marble, Pale Green, and Purple.

Previously only available on compact disc format in Japan (Obliteration Records, 2005), Infidel Eternal is the debut album from Tokyo’s SSORC. Drawing heavily from Scandinavian black metal influences (GORGOROTH, DARKTHRONE, et al) and infusing the crazed, violating ethics of 80′s Japanese hardcore, SSORC blast through traditional themes of nature, anti-organized religion, agony, woe, and despair at an unrelenting pace that never truly relinquishes attack. Accordingly, the band is actually comprised of former members of legendary extreme Japanese hardcore band G.I.S.M. as well os other noted acts such as MAGANE, ZOMBIE RITUAL, MƏSOGI, and MORTES SALTANTES.

With SSORC, their collective goal is quite simply “to terrify people, or to give people fear.” Mantras and themes of “Black Metal Terrorism” appear throughout both the album and the band’s limited public profile. The guitar tones are cruel and menacing, the bass is distorted and sick, Mutilation Under the Moonlight’s vocals howl with a pain seldom put to tape, and the drums blast forth as if they legitimately want to kill you. This is truly Japanese extreme black metal.

Available now for the first time on vinyl anywhere in the world, the Infidel Eternal LP+7″ features the entire scathing album and a special cover of DARKTHRONE’s “Unholy Black Metal.”

Track List:
1.) Step Into The Forests Of Your Dusk
2.) Caller Of The Typhoon
3.) Before There Is Light
4.) Bury My Coffin By My Own Hands
5.) Winds Of Plague
6.) Hell Is My Heaven, Pain Is My Pleasure
7.) The Relentless Agony Intimidates Me Into The Black Silence As A New Moon
8.) Downwards The Roots Of Darkness
9.) Fury Of The Mountains
10.) Below The Moon, Above The Earth
11.) Black Metal Terrorism

The Second LP In ATWA Series...

...from Charles Manson is now available via Magic Bullet. Trees is a ten track LP that comes on a multitude of color variations.

“Why come to me… with all this dying and all this fear and all this bullshit? I’m not into dying and fear. I’m into music. I play music.”
- Charles Manson c. 1988

Long before the fear, the media fixation, and cult of personality surrounding what we’ve come to know publicly as CHARLES MANSON, a 27-year old inmate at McNeil Island Penitentiary, dubbed “Little Charlie” by those on the inside, found true respite and solace in the form of a six string guitar. Late-blooming aside, MANSONtook to the guitar like a fish to water. This initially came much to the surprise of his first guitar teacher, fellow inmate and legendary Ma Barker Gang heavy Alvin “Creepy” Karpis. Sympathetic to MANSON‘s tumultuous, institutionalized upbringing (which saw him in countless orphanages, reformatories, and prisons all throughout his young life), Karpis would later pen “it (was) time someone did something for him.” And as Karpis would stick to his pledge, Charlie would not disappoint. By the time of his release in 1967 (some 6 years after his first lesson from Karpis), MANSON wandered into the streets of San Francisco already quite the accomplished singer and songwriter.

True to form, and no less than a year later, MANSON found himself both on the radar of major producers and in front of the boards of a legendary studio session funded by BEACH BOYS drummer Dennis Wilson. That recording would be titled LIE and ultimately saw release on ESP Disk on March 6 of 1970. To this day, it serves as MANSON‘s only formal studio session between his parole from prison in 1967 and the historic death-penalty-turned-life-sentence ruling handed down in 1970. Yet the influence of MANSON‘s music continues to be immeasurable. Wilson himself would re-pen the MANSON cut “Cease to Exist” in 1969 for the BEACH BOYS, who in turn recorded it for their “20/20″ album under the new song title “Never Learn Not to Love.” At the height of their popularity, and a full 24 years later, GUNS N’ ROSES covered “Look at Your Game, Girl” on their 1993 album “The Spaghetti Incident.” Current popular acts such as ALKALINE TRIO, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, and MARILYN MANSON continue the tradition with numerous covers, vocal references, and homages to both MANSON‘s songs and his life. Unquestionably, with each passing decade, the list of mainstream and underground artists covering songs from LIE and/or referencing the musical and philosophical work of CHARLES MANSON becomes both undeniable and impressive.

2011 marks a solid 41-year stint of incarceration for CHARLES MANSON under his life sentence. Through all that time, MANSON has been by all accounts almost monk-like in his commitment and continued work toward both his music and a personal environmental philosophy he coined “ATWA” (an acronym for “Air, Trees, Water, Animals”) specifically.

AIR, TREES, WATER, and ANIMALS is a 4-part, seasonal album series by CHARLES MANSON on Magic Bullet Records that brings together these two passions. Each individual album features previously-unheard, authorized, and exclusive songs with a sharp focus on the non-sustainable environmental conditions mankind has wrought for itself. The recordings span numerous sessions and are presented in their raw, natural, and unadulterated form. Each installment also features striking artwork and careful presentation centered around the tenets and philosophies of ATWA (including exclusive paintings rendered by MANSON himself). When all of the sensationalism, fear, projection, and knee-jerk response is stripped away, all that remains is a man named Charlie, strumming and picking away on his guitar and sending his passions into the ether.

Track List:
1.) One
2.) Our God is ATWA
3.) We’re Dead By Then
4.) Love is Knowing
5.) Before Before
6.) Prayer
7.) Zero
8.) The Enemy
9.) The Solution
10.) Taking it Away From Yourselves

Charles Manson's Inner Sanctum Repress

Here is the re-release of the Inner Sanctum 7" from Charles Manson, which was a precursor to the above mentioned ATWA series from Magic Bullet. This comes in four different cover variations: Ash, Clay, Kraft, and White.

Originally released by our friends at Holy Terror Records, Inner Sanctum was the first sampling of a grippe of recently unearthed and previously unheard CHARLES MANSON music played and recorded himself from deep within prison walls.

This is the original 7″ that begat the ”ATWA” series of full length recordings on Magic Bullet Records. All material appears in its original, raw, and unadulterated form for maximum fascination and authenticity.

This reissue is limited edition in nature and comes inside of a special silkscreened jacket made of entirely recycled material to complement the ecological philosophies contained within CHARLES MANSON‘s music and message.

Track List:
1.) Air
2.) Labor of the Mind
3.) Just Love Someone

More from Psychic Teens

Yes, Psychic Teens now have a VHS for pre-order (ships November 1)... though good luck if you have a VHS player... this is almost like putting out an 8 track.

Psychic Teens have described their music as “that time you saw your creepy metalhead brother at 80’s night”. While might be an unusual description it is also very fitting with their mix of post punk, goth, and shoegaze sound. They are that non metal band that all the metal heads are into. “TAPE” features 3 tracks each with it’s own video. Presented on white VHS housed in a clear case with hand screen printed insert. Hand numbered and limited to an edition of 75 with a limited edition collectors version featuring a transparent insert limited to 10 copies available to the lucky few who are first to order.

Handmade Birds Latest Batch Vol. I

Something new from White Ring

While musically, White Ring is far removed from being anything close to a rock band, the intention to have an original spirit and push things forward- much like Neil Young and Kurt Cobain- is very much present. This is light + beauty. This is White Ring arranging and recording their very first cover song- a crushing rendition of Neil Young's "Hey Hey, My My". Backing this is the song most requested at live shows, "Felt U", which, despite being their most popular track, has never been officially released on an album.

Edition: 180 gram, 45 rpm, this is the second installment in our ultra limited White Label Series. One of the loudest piece of vinyl you could slam on the deck. Unmarked white labels, white dust sleeves, black jackets with image of a shrine to Cobain created by K. Malia herself.
