Gholas Album Mastering Is Just About Complete

So, the Mastering Is just about complete for the Gholas album, Загадка. I seriously cannot wait for people to hear this sucker. We worked our asses off for two years to complete the album.

My Final Isis Show

So last night was more than likely the last time that I will ever see Isis play, and I certainly have mixed emotions about it. I certainly respect their artistic vision and reasoning behind putting their collective to rest; it just is odd and sad all the same.

I'll never forget the first time that I saw the band at Paper Weight Fest in I think spring 98 at this time the lineup was much different than what it was last night. Aaron Turner, Aaron Harris, and Jeff Caxide were there, but Randy from Cable was on guitar and Craig Mereschuk (sic?) was playing auxiliary drums. It was an experience for certain, and even though everyone that I was with thought I was nuts, I bought their demo and proceeded on my journey for the next decade plus.

Through Isis and their myriad of side projects, I was exposed to tons of great music that I would never have found otherwise; and even though I will not be seeing Isis again...the people in the band will continue to make music, and I will continue to listen.

The set was great last night, and even the sound was pretty annoying, it was enjoyable.

Masakari- The Prophet Feeds

Angel Eyes "Midwestern" Is Up for Pre-Order

I haphazardly stumbled upon Angel Eyes when I picked up their second or third release ...And For A Roof A Sky Full Of Stars for review (see that here). I picked up their other recording that I could find, Something To Do With Death, not long afterward due to my hard to beat obsession with find every recorded bit by a band once I decide that I like them.

Now, I had not head much from this outfit recently, until I saw the preorder info for their new album, Midwestern. I am definitely excited to hear where this record leads the band following their first few records. Check it out...it reminds me of what a post rock type band would sound like if they really loved Ennio Morricone; and for added measure, the fact that they are named after a character from the Man with no name trilogy (and a Lee van Cleef character at that ) should be reason enough.
