El Scorcho...

So as I am licking my mental wounds during a rare slow week for Grad School, I am listening to Weezer's "El Scorcho" on repeat. The lead single off of the band's sophomore effort Pinkerton, "El Scorcho" is easily my favorite song by them. Quite frankly, the subtle humor and smooth harmonies of their debut album never quite grabbed me at the time; I quite literally remember calling the band a bunch of dorks (ironic isn't it).

The first time that I watched the video for "El Scorcho", there was an immediate connection to the weird melodies and off kilter sounds from the guitars. To this day, I still think it is Weezer's best song, even though I have come to enjoy a bunch of their other tracks.
