Two new tapes from Imminent Frequencies.

The first, Soundtracks For Brakhage is from Rick Corrigan.

IF17 - RICK CORRIGAN - "SOUNDTRACKS FOR BRAKHAGE"

Three electronic soundtracks by Rick Corrigan composed for films by the visionary filmmaker Stan Brakhage. During the mid 1980’s Rick Corrigan was part of the Colorado-based experimental ensemble Architect’s Office when he befriended local film legend Stan Brakhage. In the years that followed they would collaborate on numerous film projects and live performances in and around Boulder, Colorado. The three soundtracks presented here were made between 1990-1992 and were composed on a variety of synthesizers and electronic instruments. Over the course of each piece Corrigan uses various techniques to create a wide range of otherworldly sounds. Layers constantly shift in texture and tone forming an aural mosaic. Never redundant and thoroughly genuine, these are the sounds of an amazing electronic synthesis. Transferred from the original cassette masters and featuring artwork created from Brakhage's original 16mm films.

The second is Dawn Widow from Steve Kenney.

Late night trance-inducing synthesizer music by Steve Kenney. Kenney a long-running figure within the Michigan noise scene may be best known for his work with the audio / visual unit Demons as well as more recent collaborations with Heath Moerland and Andrew Coltrane. The past several years have found Kenney increasingly going solo both on record and in live form. Fresh off the release of his debut LP, Dawn Widow collects recent sessions recorded in Detroit and Mexico City. Kenney supplies two sides of stark electronics consisting of enigmatic swells that pulsate within an endless series of tunneling synth drones and ever-changing tonalities. Desolate and weak, it’s only a matter of time before you loose your sanity.

First up is the latest from Developer... harsh noise at it's finest.

Harsh music concrete and tape assemblage from Matthew Reis. A prominent member of Ohio's experimental music scene, Reis (Teeth Collection, Factotum Tapes)
has become synonymous for his explorations of electro-acoustic music. First with his Teeth Collection project and now under the guise of Developer, Reis has moved
into exploring the areas of tape-based harsh noise and music concrete. Reis's style of improv tape music takes cues from Burrough's cut-ups while forging a new
kind of (harsh) experimentation.

Next up is the tape from Collapsed Arc.

Kinetic blown out sound loops by Cleveland, Ohio sound and visual artist David Russell. Collapsed Arc finds Russell's (Jerk, The David Russell Snake, Relentless Corpse) latest project immersed in an amalgamation of field recordings, contact mic experiments and appropriated vocal banter- masterfully melded together into loops of auditory chaos. Despite the non-musical nature of many of these sounds like any good pop song they lure you in. Disjointed sound sculpture for the musical masses.

...has two new tapes available as of today.

...two new Imminent jammers to ease you through the summer months



















First up is one by Slag Heap. Slag Heap is the main project of Chicago/ Madison local Connor Camburn. To date Camburn has put out a handful of tapes out on Chicago's Field Studies as well as his own label Hushing. Camburn forgoes the murky synth drones of his previous releases to present two sides of minimal synth pulsations.

Next we have Columbus Ohio's almighty Envenomist. One of several projects headed by David Reed (Luasa Raelon, Brittle Foundries), Envenomist has released many releases over the last few years on labels around the world. This new tape finds Reed delving into dark and sinister Lovecraftian paths of the unknown. Once this one sucks you in, it may never let you out...

IF12 – Slag Heap “Mar”

Minimal pulsating synthesizer music by Chicago native Connor Camburn. The repetitive tonal progressions heard here slowly evolve creating mathematical vortexes of the mind.
These simple rhythmic patterns are strangely reminiscent of the early electronic work of Alvin Lucier and David Tudor while forging new ground.

Each copy comes with a handmade art book by Connor Camburn.

Haunting analog electronics from Ohio’s David Reed. The last several years have seen Reed (Luasa Raelon) create some of the darkest and most sinister synth work out there.
Ominous synthscapes give way to s low burning electronic swells. Horrific and hallucinatory.You went in thinking it was just a nightmare, but now there’s no way out.
